DJ Kool Herc, also known as Clive Campbell, moved to New York with his family from Jamaica.
I DJed at a party I organized to buy clothes for my sister Cindy.
He set up a sound system in the recreation room at his house at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue and started partying.
This was later said to be the moment when hip hop was born, and the event began to move to different locations and take place every month.
This is also the birthplace of "Break Beats."
